What level of care am I eligible to receive?
The Home Care Package level you are eligible for is determined by My Aged Care. There are four levels of Home Care Packages funded by the Australian Government.
At Star Health, we provide all four levels of Home Care Packages:
Level 1 Basic Care Needs
This package is designed to support those who need basic levels of support, usually with everyday tasks. This level of package is ideal for preventing premature and unnecessary admission into residential aged care.
The Australian Government will pay a yearly amount up to the approximate* value of $8,750
Level 2 Low-level care needs
This package is designed to support those who need low levels of support. A level 2 recipient may be eligible to enter residential aged care but would prefer to continue living at home.
The Australian Government will pay a yearly amount up to the approximate* value of $15,250
Level 3 Intermediate care needs
This package is designed to support those who need intermediate levels of support. A level 3 recipient is more than likely eligible to enter residential aged care but would prefer to continue living at home. This level is also suited to people who require nursing care in their own home.
The Australian Government will pay a yearly amount up to the approximate* value of $33,500
Level 4 High-level care needs
This package is designed to support those who need the highest level of support. Level 4 recipients are eligible to enter residential aged care but would prefer to continue living at home. This level is suitable for people with complex care needs.
The Australian Government will pay a yearly amount up to the approximate* value of $50,750
* Figures are rounded. The maximum government contribution increases yearly. The individual amount that will be paid will depend on whether you are asked to pay an income-tested care fee.
