COVID Testing

Get tested for COVID-19

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you should get tested.

Please note: We are unable to test anyone for travel purposes.

There are 2 types of tests that can detect if you have the COVID-19 virus:

  1. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
  2. Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)
  • PCR tests are taken at testing clinics by healthcare workers and are better at detecting COVID-19. The test involves a swab being taken from the back of your throat and nose. It generally takes less than a minute. Once the test is complete, the sample is sent to a laboratory and tested to see if you have COVID-19.
  • RATs can be used at home without supervision and can give you results in 15 minutes. If you test positive using a RAT, you are considered COVID positive and you must report your result to the Department of Health online via: https://dhvicgovau.powerappsportals.com/rapid-antigen-test/ .
Or call to report on: 1800 675 398

You should get tested for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • fever
  • cough
  • tiredness
  • loss of taste or smell
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • aches and pains
  • diarrhoea

Please seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms, such as: difficulty breathing, or shortness of breath, loss of speech, mobility, confusion, or chest pain. Always call before visiting your doctor or health facility.
