The MHOS program is delivered by qualified and experienced harm reduction outreach workers.

The Mobile Health Outreach Service (MHOS) is a FREE, confidential after-hours service for people who inject drugs. Our outreach workers provide injecting equipment and safer using information and education to people living in Port Phillip, Stonnington, Bayside, Kingston and Glen Eira – Monday to Sat 7pm-11pm.

We provide:

  • Injecting equipment
  • Needle syringe disposal
  • Condoms and lube
  • Overdose response training and Naloxone
  • Education regarding blood borne viruses, vein care, injecting different kinds of drugs,
  • Health knowledge relating to use of different kinds of drugs including performance and image enhancing drugs, new psychoactive substances, etc.
  • Referral to other services
  • Support and information.

People wanting new injecting equipment can call MHOS. The worker will arrange to meet the person with the equipment at an agreed safe place or other health setting.

 

Who is eligible?

This service is for anyone who injects drugs or other substances in the Southern Bayside area of Melbourne.
